In the world of aviation, there are few words that evoke such a variety of experiences, opportunities, memories and connections as “Oshkosh”. If you haven’t been to Oshkosh, whatever you think you know about it is inadequate. It’s the Super Bowl, World Series, and Olympics of aviation all rolled into one giant extravaganza. The statistics are eye-popping: 608,000 visitors, 16,378 aircraft, and 5,000 volunteers. Plus, COVID had virtually shut-down Oshkosh in 2020, and in the Spring of 2021 the first vaccines just were becoming available, so nobody knew who could or would come. But come they did: 1,420 vintage aircraft, 1,089 homebuilt aircraft, 354 warbirds, 148 aerobatic planes, and plucky Centurion N7591N, eager to sample the sights.
