There is no doubt: the future of the automobile is electric. All-electric vehicles from Tesla, the Chevy Bolt, and other offerings from GM, Ford, Toyota, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Nissan, Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche make for a bright future. But there is a huge raincloud over the EV world: range anxiety. Buyers have difficulty justifying a $40,000+ car that only goes 250 miles before requiring an hour-long nap recharging at a Starbucks. Good luck fixing that, I say, because range anxiety has been bedeviling us pilots for a century. This year I decided to put that problem to bed with my Cessna Centurion, once and for all.
