Plane Ownership

The sheer mass of a new airplane engine is intimidating; it is one big, beautiful, but wickedly complicated machine. But there were three improvements to be made when the engine was updated. First, use six enormous rubber fittings made by Summit Aviation to carry the weight of the engine. Second, revamp the exhaust system with a PMA alternative from Aerospace Welding to simplify the system, eliminate weight, and avoid trapped heat. Lastly, replace all the analog engine gauges with a modern JPI EDM-930 engine monitor. If only real life was as good as the advertising for all these products. The hard work, it turns out, isn’t buying stuff… it’s bolting it all together.
